What Halfsent is
Halfsent is a place to write short personal texts. It is operated by Fotis Gkogkos, Mathildenstraße 5, 80336 München, Germany. You can reach us at support@halfsent.com.
Most of what you write stays private to your account. Each entry is either kept or sent to a pool, and you decide which by the button you press: an entry sent to the pool may be one of up to five drawn at random each day and shown publicly.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old.
You need an account to keep anything. You can write without one, but nothing is saved and nothing can be published.
What you write
Your writing stays yours. You keep every right you had in it.
By choosing to put an entry in the public pool you give us permission to store it, screen it, and display it on this site under your username. That permission ends when you delete the entry, except for copies already made by search engines or archives outside our control.
Most of what you write should be your own. A short quote is fine when it is clear that it is a quote and you say whose it is. Do not paste long passages from elsewhere, and do not present someone else's writing as yours.
Do not write anything unlawful, or anything that identifies another living person without their consent: names, addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, or details that make someone recognisable.
Do not use the public pool for advertising, links, or spam.
How entries are reviewed
Only entries you choose to share are reviewed. Private entries are never screened.
Some things are checked automatically as you write: phone numbers, addresses, bank details, links, obvious spam. That way you can fix them straight away.
Everything else is read by a person before it can be drawn, to check for threats, hate, and other people's private details. It is not read for any other purpose and is not judged on quality. We may decline to publish an entry, and we do not have to explain why in detail. Declining to publish never deletes your entry: it stays in your history.
If you think something was declined wrongly, write to us at the address above.
Removing things
You can delete any entry at any time, published or not.
You can delete your account at any time, which deletes everything you wrote.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms, or where we are legally required to.
Telling us about something published here
If an entry on the public page is unlawful, or breaks these terms, or is your own writing or private information published by someone else, tell us through the feedback form. It is the same form used for everything else and needs no account.
Say which entry it is and what is wrong with it. A person reads every message and decides. You are not arguing with an automated system. If it has to come down, it comes down, and we will tell you what we did if you left an address.
This is our notice mechanism under Article 16 of the Digital Services Act. It is not an emergency service and does not hold itself out as one.
What we do not promise
Halfsent is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, or that entries will never be lost.
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes and law
If we change these terms materially we will say so on the site before the change takes effect.
German law applies. If you are a consumer, this does not remove protections you have under the law of the country you live in.
